Replaced damaged wood with treated wood, installed new PVC windows with wood interior, completed new bathroom with heated floors, the new kitchen has environmentally friendly Caesar stone. Both the kitchen and bathroom were given solar glass skylights. To maintain character of the cottage we installed irregular length maple floors throughout, the new kitchen and bathroom cabinets have simple but classic lines and kept the original paint colors on the exterior. We increased the living space, provided additional shade and offered privacy from the main house by building arbors off the living and kitchen areas. The top slats of the arbors were covered with copper to prevent water damage and offer an interesting patina as they age.
